GMC’s MDG-focused action Put Yourself in My Shoes to visit mall in Barcelona

26 February - After its first performance on the International Day of the Child in 2010, the Put Yourself in My Shoes (PYIMS) exhibit will be held during an entire week in one of Barcelona’s biggest shopping malls. The stunt in Barcelona will be a coordinated effort of the GMC members and it is then expected to travel to Zaragoza, where it will be led by World Vision Spain, and then to Madrid. Major international organisations and institutions join forces to advocate for children on the move

London, January 20, 2011. Between 19-20 January, 2011 recently created Working Group on Children on the Move held its first meeting in London. The group gathered high profile representatives from leading international child-focused NGOs, UN and intergovernmental organisations (ILO, IOM, UNICEF and UNHCR) as well as the UN Special Rapporteur on the sale of children, child prostitution, and child pornography and two independent consultants. Barcelona, 9th December 2010 – The Global Movement for Children’sConvening Committee held its second annual meeting in Barcelona last weekwhere it opened with a leave-taking letter from GMC’s Chair Dean Hirsch,former President of World Vision International.
